Hear from CherisE

My story is filled with events reflecting God’s faithfulness in spite of my faults, timidity and fears of failure. The woman I strive to be daily is positive, gracious, confident and sensitive to the needs of others. The understanding of my interests (food, people and places) and spiritual gifts (encouragement, administration and hospitality) led me to the Charlotte Campus of Johnson & Wales University. I graduated in 2008 with an Associate’s Degree in Restaurant Management and Bachelor of Arts degree in International Hotel & Tourism Management.

An extension of my college years was the fulfillment of a personal passion—creating and launching a nonprofit for young ladies called GLOSS.  Since 2006, I have operated it full-time with a volunteer staff and I love it!  Earning an MBA with honors from Devry’s Keller Graduate School of Management, actively serving in the Junior League, working as the Member Relations Manager for a the premier member’s only Pinnacle Club, teaching as an adjunct professor for Atlanta Technical College and Goodwill’s Helms College, managing my own Airbnb and hosting a podcast, “Pineapple Talks” are also weaved in my story.  I count it all for nothing if God receives no glory.

My Instagram hashtag, “#FitJarOfClay” is a constant reminder of keeping my mind, body and soul ready so my goals will not be just a wish but become a reality.  I press to accomplish much with the days that the breath in my body affords me.
